Arrows
I know I've been putting a lot of poems lately, but I have not had the time I wanted to write on here. I still wanted there to be new postings for you to be reading. Thank all of you for checking out my site, and thank you for your supportive comments. Just one thing, today was a great day! A mothers day we could celebrate with all of our hearts without any disappointment. It's still taking some getting used to being only 8 1/2 weeks. Doesn't seem quite real yet, but awesome to think what's to come. Christmas will be coming early this year, December 15th!
Here's another poem I wrote in the last year. Similar themes as the others, but my focus, my life, all of my desire is to lead a life worthy of the sacrifice Christ made for me. It's all I want and all I need. Any small thing I can do or I can write, to express the thanks and gratitude I have for the change in me, change in my life and the blessings I have received from Jesus, is not enough. I only want to give God the glory and the honor he deserves. The following poem is titled, Arrow, after the many ways we are taken out, wounded or derailed during our life, and the hope we have if we give our lives over to Him.
Thank you for Christ and the blood He shed
Conquering death, He rose from the dead
Enduring our punishment, remaining pure to the end
Though death which was certain, His Son He did send
Crying out from Gesthemane, with a blood stained brow
Your will, not mine, I’m ready to now
Free men we have been, to look the other way
Ignoring the facts, living lives day by day
With self-centered thoughts, how much stuff can I get
Don’t bother me now, 'til I earn another cent
Too much time for our work, no time for our brothers
I’ll see my family at Christmas, or some time or another
We long for acceptance, to know we have made it
To get to the top, I’m sure that will save me.
Cover our hurt, nothing wrong with me
I have a great life, oh I hope they can’t see
The hurt that resides, behind these sad eyes,
Life is just getting stuff, only waiting to die
There once was some hope, until arrows were shot
Straight to the heart, dreams dashed on the rocks
The deepest desire, to feel loved, whole, and worthy
Don’t let them get close, I hope they won’t hurt me.
Little did we know, there always was One
He knew who we were, before we begun
All the bad that we’ve done, all the hurt we have spoken
Who loves us forever, accepted us broken
It’s our hearts that he wants, to bind, mend and set free
Just crack open the door, and His love you will see,
Yes He will set Your heart Free.
